CS40 - Secretarial Foundation Diploma Course - Level 1

Receive comprehensive training materials for future reference; the opportunity to gain the KeyNet Secretarial Foundation Diploma Level 1 and the opportunity to gain up to 3 qualifications through OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and the RSA) examinations.

This course is suitable for complete beginners who wish to learn office skills, touch typing and word processing and follows the syllabus for OCR (RSA) Level 1 in Text Production and Word Processing.

As a distance learning / home study course the suggested amount of study time is 40-50 hours which may be spread over a few months.  The following topics are covered:

Keyboarding Skills / Touch Typing for Beginners
Keyboarding / Touch Typing Speed Development
Word Processing for Beginners including business correspondence, tabulation and tables
Office Skills and English Skills including filing systems and the correct use of apostrophes
Text Production to OCR (RSA) Level 1
Word Processing to OCR (RSA) Level 1

The course offers the opportunity to gain the following:

KeyNet Secretarial Diploma Level 1
OCR Text Production Level 1 Certificate
OCR Word Processing Level 1 Certificate

C10 - Secretarial Course / PA Advanced OCR Diploma - Level 2

Receive comprehensive training materials for future reference; the opportunity to gain the KeyNet Secretary / PA Advanced Diploma at Level 2 and the opportunity to gain up to 4 OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and the RSA) examinations.

This course is suitable for complete beginners or those with some previous experience.  It is also suitable for graduates requiring skills for the modern business environment. Learn touch-typing and word processing to advanced levels, including tables. The course follows the syllabus for OCR Level 1 and Level 2 in Text Production and Word Processing, OCR Mailmerge Level 2 (Audio Transcription may be selected instead of Mailmerge if required). 

As a distance learning / home study course the suggested amount of study time is 60-80 hours which may be spread over a few months.  The following topics are covered:

Keyboarding Skills / Touch Typing for Beginners
Keyboarding / Touch Typing Speed Development
Word Processing for Beginners including business correspondence, tabulation and tables
Office Skills and English Skills including filing systems and the correct use of apostrophes
Text Production to OCR (RSA) Level 1 and Level 2

Mailmerge (or Audio Transcription) to OCR (RSA) Level 2

C35 - Executive Secretary / PA OCR Diploma Course - 12 Module Course

Receive comprehensive training materials for future reference; the opportunity to gain the KeyNet Executive Secretary / PA Diploma at Level 3 and the opportunity to gain up to 10 certificated qualifications through OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and the RSA).

This course is suitable for beginners, experienced secretaries or graduates requiring skills for the modern business environment.  The choices available include comprehensive training to advanced levels in touch typing, word processing, audio transcription, spreadsheets, graphs, tables, mailmerge, and document presentation. The course follows the syllabus for OCR to Level 2 and/or Level 3.

As a distance learning / home study correspondence course the suggested amount of study time is 120 hours which may be spread over a few months.  The following topics are covered:

For those who are complete beginners the first 4 modules are:
1 Keyboarding Skills / Touch Typing for Beginners
2 Keyboarding / Touch Typing Speed Development
3 Word Processing for Beginners including business correspondence, tabulation and tables
4 Office Skills and English Skills including filing systems and the correct use of apostrophes

A further 8 modules can be selected from the list of options. Students who already have the above skills may choose another 4 modules instead.  Please note that for the OCR (RSA) options at least 2 passes at Level 2 are required before taking any of the Level 3 options.
